MAYA -The Musical is the first musical by Lind & Jervidal. Premiere in 1993
The musical is inspired by the myth of Orpheus, which ancient themes of love and death is very suitable for musical drama.
Many composers like Monteverdi, Gluck and Offenbach have used the myth in different ways. In Lind & Jervidal's contemporary and completely independent version, we find the young woman Maya, who, after losing her husband Michael, is lured into an Underworld ruled by the flattering Belzibub.
The main theme is the struggle between evil and good, hatred and love, in short: Life and Death.This conflict takes place in a heavenly and hellish sphere, which Maya travels through in her search for her beloved Michael.
