Tove Lind & Tommy Jervidal.
Tove Lind (1954-2009) and Tommy Jervidal (1954- ) were born in Frederikshavn, Denmark. They met in highschool, and was married in 1976. They both studied music at Aarhus University and Tommy also studied classical guitar at the Conservatory, where he graduated in 1980. Tove composed songs since Highschool and as a duo they performed both popular and their own material at local concert venues. In 1990 Tove composed pieces suitable for the acoustic guitar, and Tommy arranged/finished the music. In 1992 the CD “Katharsis”, 14 pieces for acoustic guitar, was published.
In 1993 they were ready to stage their first big musical, “Maya”, with Symphonic Orchestra, big choir, many dancers and professional soloists, in all 200 participants. It was a success and in 1996 they had premiere with a new work, “H.C. Andersen, The Musical”. The story about the worldknown Danish poet H.C Andersen was a success and 3 years later Lind & Jervidal were ready with a musical based on H.C. Andersen’s famous adventure, “The Snowqueen”.
After 3 musicals in a row Lind & Jervidal wanted to make a more spiritual work, which could be staged in a church, too, and in 2009 the were almost ready with the musical-oratorio “Francis of Assisi, God´s Troubadour”.
Suddenly Tove Lind died in September 2009 but Tommy decided to continue the work, dedicated to her. The musical-oratorio “Francis” had premiere In Musikhuset Aarhus in November 2010. The reviews were awesome with 6 Stars out of six and in 2011 the success continued with concerts around in Danish Cathedrals and churches. In 2013 “Francis” was staged in Vienna, Austria and in The Rufino Cathedral in Assisi, Italy. In 2015 “Francis” was invited on tour to Krakow, Poland, in a co-operation with artists and choirs from both Poland and Denmark.
Through all the creative processes Tove was the “spark” and Tommy the “gasolin”.
